There's No Friend Like A Sister

There's no better friend than a sister -
There's no one more loyal and true...
and even when sisters are different...
their likeness come shining through!

Perhaps it's a family resemblance
that strengthens the bond they share...
or maybe it's just that sisters live life with a similar flair! -
She knows more than you will admit
of times you were Little Miss Perfect...
and times you gave others a fit!
She's seen you in some situations
when silence just wouldn't suffice...
and managed somehow to get by with those sisterly words of advice!

And when some encouragement's needed...
a sister will always be there...
to listen...
to laugh...
or to lean on...
to comfort, or simply to care.

There's no one who's more in your corner...
and no one you're more grateful to.
There's no better friend than a sister...
and no better sister than you.

Christmas 2006

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Our Christmas was awesome. On Christmas Eve we stayed home and had a quiet night. Murray and I opened our presents to each other and had an amazing salmon dinner with wine and all the fixings.

Christmas Day we went to my parents' place to have Christmas with my family. It was not the same this year. We were missing 2 people: Curtis was with his Dad this Christmas and my Uncle was working. Still had lots of fun. Teri's Mom and brother joined us later in the afternoon and we played a fun game and ate once again. It is all about the food during the holidays.

Boxing Day we went to Murray's parents for another Christmas celebration. We had lots of fun. Our nephews got costumes for Christmas and watching them play Superman was alot of fun. Lois made the costumes for the boys. We got our traditional sister in law picture taken. We had our traditional wrapping paper fight and found Nathan tucked under the pool table and hidden behind the Christmas tree trying to read his new book.

I really enjoyed this holiday, as Murray did not work at all through this season. We spent the whole time together. As most of you know that has never happened in all the years we have been together. He has always had to work.

Christmas Tradition

We have a tradition with our nephews Jordan and Jace. Every Christmas they come over for an evening of gingerbread and fun.
The first few years we made gingerbread houses. Murray and I thought it would be much more fun to try something new, so last year we all built a gingerbread sports car. The car looks so cool, until they were driving home and their dad went around a corner and the car fell apart.
This year we decided to do something different again, so I phoned Jen with an the idea of a gingerbread guitar. She thought it was a great idea. Her and I decided to keep it a secret from the boys until they got here.
Jace thought we were making a gingerbread mansion. They were surprised when they got here. They both thougt it was a great idea.
The boys did an amazing job on them. They almost look too good to eat. Each of their guitars had a case to carry it home and a stand for them to display them. Good Job Jordan and Jace!!!!!!!

Do you believe in Santa?

I now believe in Santa!!!!!
On Sunday we were having breakfast at the hotel and noticed a man that looked like Santa. When the man got up after finishing his breakfast we noticed he had red pants on with white cuffs and black boots on. Trace, Mur and I were behind him in the hallway of the hotel so we asked him if we could have our picture taken with him. He was so nice and he was happy to do that for us. So I raced to our room to get my camera to take some pictures. Later that day we saw him in the local mall as Santa and he was alone for just a moment. We went up to him with a card and some money in it for him to have lunch on us. He was just like a santa that kids dream about. He was a very nice man and he really brought back the spirit of Christmas to us adults.

Weekend in the States

This weekend we went to the States to do some Christmas shopping. Also we thought it would be a great time to get away for a weekend. We had such a great time. Here are just a few pics. Thanks everyone for making our weekend so much fun.

Wine Storage cooler

Last weekend Murray and I were out Christmas shopping and we found this beautiful wine rack. It was a great deal, so here is a sneak peak of our Christmas present to each other.
